Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary

Recruits and educates football student athletes on how to pursue a degree in a timely fashion. Educates student athletes on social and academic integrity. Positively engages alumni, campus community and fan base. Strives to develop a championship team on the field, as well as in the community. Demonstrates exemplary leadership for the student-athletes, staff, and Albany State community as a whole.

Responsibilities
  • Execute all responsibilities as the Head Football Coach in a manner that reflects a commitment to the excellence, integrity and success of the program, Department of Athletics and Albany State University.
  • Prepare and organize daily practice sessions, game preparation for championship and non-championship segments.
  • Organize and oversee the recruiting of prospective student-athletes in accordance with the NCAA, SIAC, University System of Georgia and Albany State University policies and procedures.
  • Supervision and evaluation of interns, assistant(s), and manager and/or work study students.
  • Carry out the goals and objectives of the program.
  • Manage the program's budget and ensure it balances each fiscal year.
  • Works closely with the Director of Athletics on scheduling.
  • Coordination and execution of arranging recruitment travel in conjunction with the administration adhering to compliance of all internal and external rules and regulations.
  • Engage in regular consultation with athletic training and other department sports medicine personnel to maximize the safety and wellness of student-athletes.
  • Demonstrate concern for the overall welfare of the students at all times.
  • Assist with tracking the admissions and eligibility process involving recruited student-athletes.
  • Responsible for working collaboratively with the Compliance Officer.
  • Responsible for monitoring and supporting student-athletes academic progress in consultation and coordination with department and institution academic support staff.
  • Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations of the NCAA, SIAC, University System of Georgia and Albany State University.
  • Responsible for assisting and supporting the Department of Athletics in administration and operations as deemed necessary by the Director of Athletics.
  • Actively participate and assist in promotional, marketing, public relations and fundraising activities for the program and the department.
  • Actively assist with community engagement activities, including offering camps and clinics, for the program and participate in departmental and institutional community engagement.
  • Promote a culture of sportsmanship.
  • Demonstrate a respect for cross-cultural differences.
  • Attend and/or participate in all required conference association meetings, events and championships.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Health, or related field

3 to 5 years experience in coaching athletic programs or related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree

Head college NCAA Division 1 or 2 coaching experience

7 years of full-time experience as a NCAA Division 1 or 2 football coach

2 years of experience recruiting the state of Georgia
