Position Function
The Clinical Placement Coordinator reports to the Associate Directors. This position works collaboratively with School of Nursing leadership, faculty, staff, and students to establish and expand clinical placements for students. This position also works collaboratively with health care facilities, healthcare providers, and preceptors to arrange student placement and meet baccalaureate and graduate programs’ clinical outcomes.
Minimum Education
Earned baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university by date of employment.
Minimum Experience
Two years of experience in nursing education or healthcare clinical education.
Minimum Other
- Willingness and ability to travel and a flexible schedule as necessary.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with databases and Microsoft Office (word, excel, etc).
- Ability and skills to work independently and collaboratively with faculty, students, and others.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Earned master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university by date of employment.
Preferred Experience
Experience with advising graduate students.
Preferred Other
Proficient and effective interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge of university policies and procedures, academic requirements, campus resources, student life, and support services.

Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.

Current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in the United States, with Indiana Registered Nurse License obtained by date of appointment.

Track and verify health clearance and background check requirements for assigned students; guide students through the purchase of health clearance and background check packages; read and decipher students’ medical records, including vaccination records, blood test titer results, TB test results; review criminal background checks for possible criminal infractions and report to the Director and appropriate Associate Director; communicate with background check and health clearance vendor(s) representatives.
