The Institute for Integrative Conservation (IIC) at William & Mary is seeking a Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Conservation to lead teaching and research related to innovation and entrepreneurship for conservation. This person will direct, in collaboration with external partners (e.g. NGOs, private companies, state and federal agencies, local and indigenous communities), applied projects that help to build business cases for conservation activities and outcomes and will teach courses in areas of innovation, entrepreneurship, and business process relevant for conservation. This is a 12-month professional faculty appointment. Salary is up to $95,000 commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate will have an appropriate advanced degree (e.g. MBA, PhD, MS, or MA) in a suitable field related to innovation and entrepreneurship. Though not required, we would favor candidates that have experience working on applied projects that relate to biodiversity conservation and/or other environmental or sustainability topics.
We are looking for a highly collaborative person who has experience working across disciplines and with a diverse set of partners. Candidates should clearly articulate how their work complements other conservation-related activities at William & Mary. We are also particularly interested in candidates who could collaborate with William & Mary’s Alan B. Miller Entrepreneurship Center.
