LECTURER IN THE ISCHOOL



Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Director of the Information School (iSchool), teach LIS 603 Research & Assessment for Information Professionals in a web-based / online format for the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.

This course introduces students to research, evaluation and assessment practices. Prepares students to design and implement a research or assessment project. Provides an overview of commonly employed data collection methodologies and introduces students to both qualitative and quantitative analysis approaches that may be employed in evaluation, assessment and research.

Duties include: preparation of a syllabus in consultation with iSchool staff, preparation and grading of assignments and examinations, holding synchronous office hours and communicating with students via email, virtual meetings, or by other means.

Responsibilities:

Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.
  • 80% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • 10% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • 10% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations

Education:

Required
Master's Degree
Minimum of a Master's degree in Library and Information Studies or closely related field required.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of research, evaluation and assessment practices. Experience designing and implementing research or assessment. Knowledge of commonly employed data collection methodologies and both qualitative and quantitative analysis approaches that may be employed in evaluation, assessment and research.

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 33.4% - 100%

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 5 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding
