Position Summary

The University at Buffalo School of Nursing invites applicants for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist ( CRNA ) Clinical Faculty position. This is a part time appointment to teach clinically in the Doctor of Nursing Practice ( DNP ) Nurse Anesthetist program. Responsibilities include:
  • Assist with clinical placement coordination, including review of clinical progress reports, traveling to clinical sites, independently or working with Nurse Anesthetist Program team to problem-solve clinical site or student clinical performance issues
  • Participate and teach in all simulation experiences, including Anesthesia Crisis Resource Management ( ACRM ) and Introduction to Clinical Course

Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in NYS or eligible for licensure in NYS .
  • Initial certification and continued recertification by the National Board for Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.
  • A Master’s Degree from a Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs ( COA ) accredited Nurse Anesthetist Program.
  • A minimum of two years clinical experience as a CRNA .
  • Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as a interdisciplinary healthcare team member.
  • Must maintain clinical practice as a CRNA .
  • Enrolled in a Doctor of Nursing Practice ( DNP ) or Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice ( DNAP ) program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DNP, DNAP, or PhD Degree.
  • Previous experience as a clinical instructor in a COA accredited nurse anesthesia educational program.
