University of New York is hiring an Assistant Teaching Professor
(official state title: Clinical Assistant Professor) in Film and
Media Studies. We seek candidates with expertise in digital media
production, especially animation. Additional experience teaching
introductory courses in film and media studies is desirable.
The Assistant Teaching Professor will teach three courses per
semester. These are full-time, non-tenure-track faculty positions
with an academic-year (10-month) obligation. The initial
appointment is a three-year contract with possibility of future
renewal, contingent upon performance, department need, and
availability of program funding.
As artists and scholars, Media Study faculty pursue varied and
interdisciplinary methods: historical, theoretical, experimental,
practice-led and practice-based. We are seeking applicants who can
contribute to our community that works at the intersection of
theory, research, and media production by specializing in one or
more of these areas.
The Department of Media Study has undergraduate BA programs in
media production and studies, a Game Studies Certificate program,
and graduate programs at the MAH, MS, MFA, and PhD levels.

Postsecondary teaching experience.
