The Early Childhood Instructional Coach will provide teaching staff with individualized and group based coaching and technical assistance to enhance the learning environment and experience of the children served utilizing Practice-Based Coaching. In collaboration with the Early Education Teacher, the Coach ensures complete implementation of developmentally appropriate classroom curriculum and assessment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure fidelity to developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment models. (Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies) and others as applicable.
  • Conduct formal and informal ongoing assessments of classroom learning environments through observation and feedback cycles
  • Utilize data to support teachers in developing appropriate teaching techniques and improving strategies
  • Utilize Facilitative Coaching to develop individualized coaching with teachers through analyzing individual and classroom child outcomes data to support child learning, as well as referring to the trusted relationship built through mutual respect and progression
  • Work collaboratively with the Early Childhood Teachers to ensure all program elements are developed, implemented and accomplished
  • Utilize effective goal creation and achievement processes to help staff improve their environments, teaching practices to support young children’s growth and development, and overall program quality
  • Provide resources and strategies to staff to enhance relationships, create appropriate environments, and teach social-emotional skills in children.
  • Maintain appropriate and professional relationships with community partners as well as maintain access to external support when needed
  • Track teacher training hours and develop plans for accomplishing further training according to program and individual needs
  • Assist with projects as assigned by the Early Childhood Teacher

The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development or closely related field (i.e. Social Work and Psychology)
  • A Minimum of 5 years’ Experience at this level
  • Experience in a K-4 setting in international curricula schools
  • Good command of both English and Arabic ( Preferred)
  • Willing to work in the Northern Emirates
  • Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) ( Preferred)
  • Licensed Coach

Job Summary: The Sharjah Education Academy is seeking a faculty member in Educational Leadership (Assistant Professor or open rank). In this position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education in Sharjah and the region. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to the development and implementation of cutting-edge educational practices and policies, ensuring the growth and success of school leadership as a profession across the United Arab Emirates.

Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching and Curriculum Development: Develop and deliver high-quality courses and curriculum in educational leadership at postgraduate level. Foster critical thinking, innovation, and practical skills in students pursuing careers in education and educational leadership. Research and Scholarship: Conduct original and impactful research in educational leadership, with a focus on the local and regional context. Publish research findings in reputable journals, present at conferences, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field. Mentoring and Advising: Provide guidance, mentorship, and academic advising to students. Program Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of educational leadership programs within the institution. Collaborate with faculty and administrators to design and update curriculum, ensuring alignment with best practices and current educational trends. Leadership and Administration: Demonstrate leadership within the institution by participating in committees, engaging in academic governance, and contributing to strategic planning initiatives. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to educational leadership programs. Community Engagement: Engage with local educational organizations, governmental bodies, and community stakeholders to build partnerships and foster collaboration. Contribute to the advancement of educational leadership practices in the United Arab Emirates through workshops, seminars, and consulting activities. Professional Development: Continuously update knowledge and skills through participation in professional development activities. Stay abreast of advancements in educational leadership theories, methodologies, and technologies.

Qualifications:

  • A doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) in educational leadership or a closely related field. A strong record of teaching, research, and scholarly publications in educational leadership or related areas. Demonstrated expertise in educational leadership theories, models, and practices. Experience in curriculum development and program design in the field of educational leadership. Prior experience mentoring and advising students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Strong leadership and administrative skills, with a proven ability to contribute to institutional initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; proficiency in Arabic is desirable.
