Job Summary
The Police Department at UWM seeks to fill a Security Technology Specialist (Technical Integration Engineer II) vacancy. This is a full-time, 12-month, academic staff position. The incumbent spends the majority of the time engaged in the following activities: evaluating and maintaining video surveillance equipment and systems on campus; managing security projects; coordinating and performing equipment installations; operating peripheral equipment; installing, maintaining, repairing, upgrading, and troubleshooting software and hardware; providing ongoing technical assistance; maintaining and upgrading websites; providing technical support for automated records management and the campus 911 system. This position primarily collaborates on projects with UWM University Information Technology Services and Facilities Services departments while also working with external contractors. The incumbent provides superb customer service and serves as a model representative of the Police Department and the Division of Finance and Administrative Affairs. This position will report directly to the day shift patrol Lieutenant.



Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or higher in related field
  • In-depth understanding of and technical skills with video surveillance hardware and software
  • Extensive knowledge of networking, computers, storage, and software


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Working knowledge in the following: Milestone software, Axis cameras, Windows operating system
