Introduction (Description of School/College/Dept/Program)
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is large, complex, dynamic and very productive. It consists of 19 faculty, 7 academic staff, 8 classified staff, and approximately 80 graduate students. This is a paraprofessional position within the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, working under the supervision and direction of the Department Administrator.

Job Summary
This position is responsible for Undergraduate Program assistance, Schedule of Classes coordinator, front office support, and reception. Additionally, this position supports several administrative functions, including updating the department website, facilitating the department newsletter as well as providing back up support for other areas of the department's administrative staff. This position directly impacts student enrollment and student success.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma OR equivalent work experience
  • Professional experience in responsible office roles or disciplines
  • Highly proficient in the use of commonly used business productivity software (e.g. MS Office Suite)
  • Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills


Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, OR related work experience
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing, interpreting, organizing, and prioritizing business communications.
  • Experience in providing customer service
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively
