Description:
The Aviation Maintenance Technician, under general supervision, performs maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on a fleet of various UAS systems ranging from rotorcraft to fixed-wing. The Technician communicates with members of a flight team and logs all discrepancies, maintenance actions, and test results as well as ensuring proper storage of maintenance logs. The Aviation Maintenance Technician deploys with flight crews and serves as an on-site advisor on fleet status to the Operations Chief during disaster response operations and other research endeavors.
Responsibilities:
Technical and Repairs
- Perform all airframe, power plant and propeller repairs and
modifications required to meet company and FAA
requirements.
- Install, repair, and troubleshoot vehicle systems including,
but not limited to:
- Power Systems
- Flight Controllers
- Sensors
- Cameras
- Radio Control (R/C) Systems
- Power Systems
Operations and Research Support
- Assist with experimental tests on drone prototypes, systems,
and equipment.
- Support operators and engineering teams with installations and
fabrication.
- Communicate effectively with flight crew members on aircraft
and/or system discrepancies.
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting.
- Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish
job assignments.
Support and Other
- Accurately complete and maintain all required maintenance
records.
- Organize and prioritize work, multi-task, and manage time
effectively.
- Compose and distribute various forms, documents, spreadsheets,
and reports using various computer software
applications.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of related experience.
- Basic Skills in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel as needed. Travel associated with this
position may be up to 20%
Preferred Qualifications:
- 120+ hours of Undergraduate Coursework, or bachelor's
degree
- FAA Part 107 RPIC license, or able to get a license within 6
months of hiring
- Two (2+) years of experience
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with
others
- Verbal and written communication skills
- FAA Airframe and Power Plant License.
Compensation:
- Starting at $27.02 hourly
