Job Summary: SUNY Brockport invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry to begin August 21, 2023. Position has responsibility for teaching a 3-3 load per semester, engaging in scholarly activity, and service to the department, campus, and profession. Minimum Qualifications:
  • PhD in organic chemistry or closely related field, by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university. Includes candidates that will have their PhD by August 1, 2023.
  • Applicants who do not hold a PhD need to provide convincing evidence that the degree will be conferred by August 1, 2023.
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated effective undergraduate teaching.
  • Ability to develop teaching strategies to meet changing student needs.
  • Demonstrated research ability in organic chemistry related areas.
  • Previous research experience which included undergraduate students.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive learning environment for students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours total, hours vary depending on final teaching schedule
