for a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant Professor or Instructor in the
Department of Nursing to begin August of 2023. Primary
responsibility is teaching traditional and
accelerated/second-degree students both in the didactic and
clinical areas of psychiatric nursing. Other responsibilities
include participation in student advisement, committee work at the
department and college level, and participation in curriculum
development and evaluation.
- Master's degree in nursing from a college or university
accredited by a U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting
organization (for position of Instructor and Assistant
- Valid NYS professional nursing license.
- Knowledge and experience in psychiatric nursing and health
- Demonstrated teaching proficiency to students and/or
- Ability to work effectively with students, public, college
community and external constituencies, with an appreciation for
cultural and group differences.
- Terminal degree from a college or university accredited by a
U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting organization
(for the position of Assistant Professor).
- Proficiency with assessment and evaluation of health care
- Experience with the development of curriculum.
- Experience with the supervision of students in the clinical
- Knowledge of basic computer programs and information technology
