Through internships, interdisciplinary studies, and athletics MC’s students are offered career-ready learning opportunities that prepare them to work in a wide variety of business professions.

McPherson College is excited about searching for and hiring an Assistant Professor of Business. Specialized study in the field of Management is required. This is a tenure-track position starting in August 2023.  The position also involves program development and growth, advising, and support of the department.

A master’s degree, teaching experience, and a background in business are required. A doctoral degree is highly preferred. Evidence of the successful use of instructional technology or a strong commitment to develop such skills if hired. Education and/or experience in small businesses is a plus.

The ideal candidate will have record of teaching excellence or be able to demonstrate potential to excel as a teacher. The ability to function collegially in a small college environment and a commitment to the liberal arts and sciences are of paramount importance.

McPherson College is a career-oriented liberal arts institution. It is located in McPherson, Kansas, about one hour north of Wichita, the most populated city in the state. Guided by an employee-driven strategic plan, the institution is embarking on a historical time of growth. This is being fueled by recently having received the largest-ever single commitment to a small liberal arts college in the United States. The anonymous double match estate commitment is worth $500 million and over time will allow the college to reimagine and reinvent its campus while pursuing initiatives that further enhance the student experience. Other transformational commitments from alumni and friends enable the college to focus on long-term academic program growth and development, and investment in campus facilities while making sure students continue to have the opportunity to graduate with little to no student debt.

The college offers opportunities to reach your potential and join a community devoted to developing whole persons through scholarship, participation, and service. McPherson College was founded in 1887 by members of the Church of the Brethren and remains committed to the values of the church: peace and justice, ethical behavior, and putting faith into action. It was the only college in Kansas honored as a 2022 Great College to Work For.  Outstanding employee benefits include a 10% contribution by the college to a retirement plan after 1 year of service and employee health insurance premiums which have not increased since 2012.
