Aurora University seeks talented adjunct faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are qualified part-time instructors offered teaching opportunities based on course demand and staffing.

The School of Health Science at Aurora University seeks adjunct faculty for the academic year. Qualified candidates must possess the academic credentials to teach in Aurora University’s Human-Animal Studies program in the following areas of interest:
  • Introduction to Animal Science
  • Animals in Public Policy
Teaching Responsibilities
  • Teach material from the approved curriculum in accordance with the assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
  • Assist students in achieving the completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback to students, e.g. respond to emails within 24 hours and grade students’ assignments, giving substantive feedback.
  • Participate in school retention initiatives by maintaining contact with students and offering assistance to absent students.
  • Advise students in matters related to academics and attendance.
  • Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.
  • The adjunct will also carry out administrative responsibilities as directed by their department chair, e.g. maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies, timely submission of final grades, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in a Human-Animal Studies related field (animal science, humane education, veterinary medicine, or other) – doctorate preferred.
  • Teaching experience at the higher education level and/or experience in the field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm toward serving a diverse student population.
