Position Summary

This position will be assigned to the main campus in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate will teach advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in archaeology, CRM, physical anthropology and/or forensics. Must be able to use various modes of delivery. The candidate will also be expected to mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and serve on thesis/professional paper committees. Full participation in departmental activities, service on university-wide committees, and adequate progress regarding research agenda also expected.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have a terminal degree (Ph.D.), in Anthropology ( ABD will be considered) with specialization in American Southwest archeology and physical anthropology.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of teaching related to American Southwest archeology and physical anthropology (background in forensic is favored), experience in Cultural Resource Management, membership and involvement in one or more professional organizations, experience in the use of technology in the classroom, and delivery of on-line/distance learning courses.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidate should demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, supervise graduate student research, interest and commitment to working with diverse populations.
