Job Summary:
The Transfer Specialist serves in a recruitment and articulation role and will manage the college’s articulation agreements with community colleges across the country. The Transfer Specialist will complete recruitment and enrollment efforts targeted to primarily undergraduate transfer students from community colleges by developing and implementing effective student recruitment and marketing plans that meet the strategic enrollment goals of Columbia College. Travel within a community college territory will be required. The position will assume additional team responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform job duties in accordance with Columbia College’s vision, mission, and values and contributes to the development of Recruitment and Admissions.
  • Accurately represent all venues of Columbia College – demonstrating a professional, positive, “One CC” mindset & attitude in all customer & co-worker interactions
  • Serve as the primary support for the recruitment specialists with prospective transfer students.
  • Proactively communicate and maintain contact with community college and transfer partners through calls, emails, and other interactions in an effective and timely manner.
  • Convey important and detailed information concerning transfer articulation agreements, partnerships, and more in the CRM (Salesforce) and other applicable databases.
  • Represent Columbia College at external recruitment events, travel to college fairs, and private visits within designated community college territories. Evenings & weekends outside of regular hour rotation will be required.
  • Understand & manage expectations that this role will be measured, including, but not limited to, the following: organized & detailed work regarding articulation agreements, transfer plans, CRM, customer service, attitude & teamwork, as well as conversion rates from prospect to matriculated student for transfer populations.
  • Maintains a caseload of new and renewed articulation agreements and creates and maintains transfer guides and advising cards for each community college.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills by conducting data analysis to improve the effectiveness of outreach efforts regarding articulation agreements.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Columbia College programs, services, and policies. This knowledge base will continually evolve.
  • Foster strong working relationships within the Recruiting & Admissions Division, Columbia College Global, community college advisors, faculty, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in planning and implementing recruitment programming for transfer student populations.
  • Work closely with fellow team members to ensure appropriate coverage of all recruitment activities, campus visits, and events.
  • Continually hone and improve ‘sales’ and recruitment skills/abilities through training, call copy review, shadowing as well as accepting and incorporating feedback/direction from supervisors.
  • Display respect and civility to all constituencies and practice superior customer service.
  • Other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills along with active listening both on the phone and in-person
  • Detail oriented and task-driven with the ability to multitask, set priorities, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work many evening and weekend hours.
  • Results-driven and strong ability to manage workload.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Columbia College alumni.
  • College admissions, financial aid, high school counseling, or teaching experience.
  • Experience with database management systems, such as Salesforce, Colleague, and OnBase.
  • Sales experience and knowledge of marketing principles.
  • Experience with customer relationship management systems, including email management, texting platform, web chat, etc.
  • Knowledge of student recruitment methods.

Other Requirements: Ability to satisfy, within the parameters set by the College and consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws, a criminal background check as a condition of employment.

Special Requirements (if any):
  • Valid US State Driver License (MO or regional territory as assigned).
  • Must meet and maintain requirements as an approved driver for Columbia College.
  • Overnight and out-of-state travel required.
  • Ability to work considerable evening and weekend hours
