Job Description

The Chancellor’s Office at UMKC is taking applications for a Sr. Executive Assistant. Successful applicants will be organized professionals known for their ability to maintain confidentiality and produce high quality work. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage the Chancellor's appointment calendar, scheduling, and tracking both internal and external meetings. Keep key executives informed, as appropriate, regarding upcoming appointments, meetings and events, etc.
  • Screen office and telephone callers; respond to sensitive questions, complaints, and requests for information from faculty, staff, leadership and the general public; communicate information in person or by telephone where judgment, knowledge, and interpretation of policies and procedures are necessary.
  • Coordinate and manage a variety of complex and diverse projects concurrently
  • Manage general email account and route to appropriate area
  • Manage and update Chancellor’s office website
  • Process signature requests and set up memos/letters for signature
  • Log and track incoming/outgoing mail and office correspondence
  • Track event request information for internal and external events
  • Manage office filing system and submit monthly reports
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and equipment
  • Assist with coordinating travel arrangements
  • Serve as back-up supervisor for work-study students
  • Assist other campus leadership as needed
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience providing administrative support in an executive-level office, for an elected official, or in a professional higher education office.

Applicants should be known for their outstanding record of dependability, outstanding communication and organizational skills, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook skills.

Experience maintaining client confidentiality and scheduling for executives preferred.

Bachelor's Degree preferred.
