Job Description:

Asset Management is accepting applications for an Asset Specialist I. The Asset Specialist I is assigned to the UF Surplus “PC Shop” and “AV Shop” areas. The position is responsible for the appropriate disposition and sustainability of all “information technology” and electronic property surveyed out as surplus by all UF departments campus-wide or abandoned by the University Police Department. In the “PC Shop” and “AV Shop” areas, the position will test, clean, and repair IT equipment for transfer or sale. The incumbent will assist in the recording and disposing of surplus property from the “PC Shop” and “AV Shop”. In addition, the position will assist in the preparing procedures for UF Surplus and provides communication to UF Surplus customers and UF department personnel.

Expected Salary:

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Valid Florida driver's license.

  • Capable and comfortable using multiple hardware and software diagnostic tools for a variety of equipment; scanner and camera hardware; and vehicular usage.
  • The person in this position must be able to lift and move equipment weighting 50 pounds.
