Job Description:
Responsible for development and implementation of a proactive maintenance program for parking facilities, including garages, surface lots, and administrative office buildings to ensure safe conditions and high aesthetic standards:
- Responsible for prioritizing and delegation of all maintenance
work to achieve optimal efficiency and resource utilization
- Responsible for maintenance of revenue and access control
equipment including corrective and preventative maintenance to
ensure proper installation and functioning of equipment as needed;
responsible for disposition of items going to surplus
- Responsible for supervision/coordination of night shift
maintenance staff performing work in garages and parking lots
- Responsible for ensuring required maintenance and regular
safety checks for TAPS vehicles
- Ensure effective communication with customers regarding
maintenance activities to maintain positive customer
relations
- Responsible for painting projects including line striping, curb
painting, and ADA designated spaces
- Responsible for coordination of installation of bicycle racks
and collection/disposal of abandoned bicycles on campus
- Responsible for coordination of sign making, installation, and
repairs for parking facilities; maintain a photographic record of
all parking signage on campus
- Responsible for coordination of replacement of light bulbs and
fixtures in parking facilities as needed
- Responsible for coordination of elevator maintenance, including
work orders and ensuring up-to-date certificates, cleanliness, and
proper operations
- Perform regular safety inspections of parking facilities;
complete inspection reports, and complete any corrective actions
needed
- Responsible for coordination of minor maintenance projects for
parking facilities, such as cleaning gutters, repairing door
handles, and painting
- Attend various meetings, as requested, for construction/utility
projects throughout campus providing comments on transportation and
parking impacts.
Responsible for hiring, training, and supervision of parking maintenance staff, including the following personnel functions: work time and leave approval and performance appraisals
Provides oversight for third-party vendors; including UF Facilities Services Division, working in TAPS garages and other parking facilities; obtain proposals, initiate work orders and monitor and inspect all work performed to ensure proper execution and completion; proposals and work orders may include building maintenance and repair items as well as trash collection, pressure washing, glass cleaning, or similar functions; review invoices and monthly billing statements to ensure accuracy of charges
Participates in and provide support for parking operations:
- Perform periodic inventory of parking spaces; document and
report changes in parking space allocation
- Conduct surveys of campus parking areas; maintain data bases,
analyze and report data
- Assist in preparation of departmental reports
- Provide input and recommendations for department budget
- Participate in the review and implementation of parking rules,
regulations, policies, and procedures
- Serve as an alternate Building Emergency Coordinator for
TAPS
- Coordinate all disability parking with the UF ADA
Coordinator
Develops reports, handle special assignments and other related duties as required.
Expected Salary:
$23.00 to $28.00 hourly
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma (or equivalent) and two (2) years of relevant experience.
Applicant must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate of Arts degree
- Demonstrated track record of completion of supervisory training
opportunities and/or experience
- 5 years management/supervisory experience in a maintenance or
construction related field
- Demonstrated strong communication skills (verbal and
written)
- Demonstrated strong organization skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural
environment
