Visitor Center Assistant

About the Opportunity

Summary:

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Admissions Visitor Services, the Visitor Center Assistant provides office support and project management for the Undergraduate Admissions Unit, most specifically for Visitor Center operations. They will support all customer service, scheduling, and room reservations for the complex daily operations of the Visitor Center, which welcomes nearly 100,000 visitors to campus each year. Additionally, the Visitor Center Assistant will manage specific projects related to the Visitor Center, including but not limited to group tour requests and event inquiries.

They will deliver significant customer service functions including visitor reception, phone and email coverage, and responds to admissions status-related inquiries by prospective students, their families and secondary school counselors. Along with the Associate Director for Visitor Services, this individual will be responsible for managing the Visitor Center space and working with internal and external stakeholders as it relates to supplies and maintenance to ensure visitors have a meaningful experience on campus.

Qualifications:

Associate's Degree, with 1-2 years of prior customer service experience is strongly preferred. Strong customer service skills are essential. Must be able to multi-task and work independently to manage responsibilities. Strong computer skills necessary (Microsoft suite). Experience with both PC and Mac products preferred.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Manage the Visitor Center's in-bound customer service channels, including reception desk, phone line, and email inbox
  • Coordinate Specialized Campus Visit Programming, including High School Group Tours, University Interest Visits, and Academic Schools and Colleges Virtual Information Sessions
  • Support Visitor Center daily operations, including coordinating room reservations, managing the Visitor Center office suite and supplies
  • Assist with additional miscellaneous support projects
