Job Description:

This position provides overall leadership for the daily operations of the Office of the Executive Vice President/Dean of the College of Medicine and Life Sciences/Vice Provost for Educational Health Affairs. The Director of Administrative Operations is responsible for ensuring that directives and initiatives are implemented in a timely and effective manner for the multiple missions and programs overseen by the Executive Vice President. This position develops strategic relationships with members of the Executive Vice President's cabinet, senior leaders and faculty and assists the Executive Vice President in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and the direct-reporting team. This position manages professional staff in a range of administrative functions while overseeing special initiatives and critical issues for the College of Medicine and Life Sciences and Clinical Affairs.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree required or significant experience in lieu of degree.
•A working knowledge of health care and academic medicine required.
•7+ years of progressively responsible administrative and/or business experience
•Minimum of 5 years of management experience required, preferably in a highly complex, matrixed organization such as an academic medical center, medical school teaching hospital or research university.
•Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong managerial ability. Able to interact and influence at the most senior levels of an organization and to work collaboratively across functions, levels, and departments toward shared objectives.
•Excellent organizational, writing and communication skills.
•Ability to manage complex, multiple and changing, and/or highly confidential priorities involving diverse constituents and stakeholders.
•Ability to cope with continuous change and pressures in a dynamic, highly demanding environment where expectations for performance and productivity are high.
