Job Description

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, administration of instruction in didactic and clinical application of the nursing curriculum.

Responsibilities:

• Works collaboratively with the faculty in coordinating the implementation of respective programs of study.
  
  
• Demonstrate evidence of teaching ability and clinical experience in both graduate and doctoral level programs.
  
  
• Develops classroom and clinical learning activities that facilitate learning.
  
  
• Coordinates orientation and teaching across the curriculum of students’ theory and/or clinical teaching.
  
  
• Plans, implements, and evaluates assigned course offerings, including clinical and practice courses.
  
  
• Serves as a member of the CON Faculty Organization and in collaboration with faculty respective assigned university committees, task forces, etc.
  
  
• Submits an annual faculty performance portfolio representative of documentation of teaching effectiveness, scholarship/research, and service.
  
  

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  
  
• Doctorate in Nursing or doctorate equivalent in a related field.
  
  
• Demonstrated leadership and scholarship in nursing education
  
  
• Evidence of teaching mastery in nursing education.
  
  
• Current performance in the scholarship of nursing (i.e. publications, grants)
  
  

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in nursing education administration.
  
  

Required Certifications or Licensures

• Current unencumbered licensure or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
  
  

Preferred Certifications

• Certification as a nurse educator.
