Job Description

The Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Department of Justice Studies will teach mostly undergraduate level courses though at times may teach a graduate course, will engage in research and publication of research findings, and participate in service commitments.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate level courses and at times graduate courses. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching interests in juvenile justice and who can teach courses throughout the curriculum.

  • Engage in, produce, publish and present findings at professional conferences on issues related to juvenile justice, criminal justice.

  • Participate in service commitments within the department, college, university and the profession.

Required Education & Experience:
  • Doctor of Philosophy in Juvenile Justice, Criminal Justice, Criminology or closely related discipline.

  • At least one year of undergraduate teaching experience.

  • Candidate that are A.B.D. will be considered.

  • Candidates with only a J.D. degree will not be considered.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Effective virtual online instruction ability

  • Ability to publish independently.
