Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Education invites applications for the full-time position of Induction Coordinator for the Building Rigorous Induction and Development for Growing all Educators (BRIDGE) Program. This position is part of a five-year USDOE grant ending 6-30-2027.
The Induction Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the induction programs in Tangipahoa Parish, St. Charles Parish, and a 3rd partner school district to be determined in year 3. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing training and development for school induction leaders and working closely with the National Institute of Excellence in Teaching (NIET) for professional development. The person in this position will be able to continue to bridge theory and practice, support new ideas in the classroom, and assist the induction mentor teachers in their role of providing support to the new teachers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Education or a related field
Experience as an evaluator or school administrator
Valid driver's license and ability to be certified through the Southeastern Defensive Driving Course
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior training in evaluation rubrics
Teaching Credential
Prior experience with the evaluation of instructional practices
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Ability to work with collaborative teams
-Ability to use Google Suite and other system software programs
-Excellent interpersonal skills are needed to work effectively with students, parents,
administrators, and staff
-Excellent organizational skills
-Ability to meet deadlines
-Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person learning environments
