Job Description:

The Department of Art at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for a position as an Adjunct Professor to teach two sections of Introduction to Graphics and Imaging for Spring 2023.

Duties include teaching CART 1000 Introduction to Graphics and Imaging. This course provides students with a foundation in raster and vector graphics, introduces animation, and provides guidance in creating a digital portfolio. Students must take this intro class before moving into Digital Illustration, Animation, Graphic and Web Design, etc. It is a requirement for studio art students as well. The computer lab has Mac computers with Cintiq Pro tablets.

The two sections of this course will be taught in-person. They are scheduled for Monday/Wednesday 1:00-2:50pm and 4:00-5:50pm. Syllabus and projects are available.

Required qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Digital Art, or a related area
  • Professional experience/portfolio in the Digital Arts
  • Expert skills in Photoshop and Illustrator and basic motion graphics/animation
  • Familiarity with a course management system such as Blackboard or D2L
