Assists leadership with the management and administration of academic advising activities of a college or major educational office. Responsible for the administration of student program recruitment, admissions, academic advising, and student retention.

  1. Assists with the direction of an advising center or office with primary responsibilities for select day to day operations and administrative management in which decisions and quality of execution have significant impact on internal and external relations.
  2. Advises a limited caseload of current and prospective students about how to meet their educational, professional, and personal goals.
  3. Provides academic advising regarding general University curriculum, requirements, as well as all the major degree programs and minor programs offered; Participates in class schedule registration tasks including enrollment, hold removal, degree plan and drop/adds.
  4. Advices students of funding opportunities and scholarship application procedures. Counsels student in financial budgeting, resources and options available.
  5. Manages and administers grant for program, including meetings, communication coordination, scholarships and other operations.
  6. Maintains and stay abreast of trends in advising, advising technologies, and changes in academic programs and transition requirements. Assist with program recommendation, communication, and technology training implementation.
  7. Collects, analyze, and report data that informs the way that advising practices, University procedures, and policies impact student success and use this data to inform strategies for improvement.
  8. Develops strong working relationships with academic departments, programs, faculty, and staff across campus to ensure that retention, student satisfaction, and revenue objectives are achieved.
  9. May develop and implement initial and on-going academic advisor training sessions, workshops and related manuals.
  10. Serves on various administrative committees, represents the University on external committees, and participates in internal and external student programs. Serves as liaison with University administration and faculty on academic matters. Performs other job-related duties as required

Qualifications :

Masters and 1 year experience

Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of one (1) years of directly job-related experience.
