Game Sound Design Adjunct



Job Description:

The Division of Communication and Creative Media seeks to fill one or more part-time oncampus adjunct faculty positions in the Game Sound Design Program. The courses available are SON 200 Game Sound Design I & SON 300 Game Sound Design II.

Course Description (s)

SON 200 Game Sound Design I

Students will deconstruct the game music from the classic, modern, and contemporary periods while learning the techniques and structures of creating sound for games. Students will use industry standard software to complete a sound package for a game. This course is required of all Game Sound Design majors.

SON 300 Game Sound Design II

Students will create music and special effects for game levels, menus and game environments. Working in groups, students will develop sound design concepts, create documentation, prepare and load sound and special effects into a game engine and conduct quality assurance testing. The course requires students to provide constructive criticism to individual and group work. This course is required of all Game Sound Design majors.


Requirements:

Experience with software in Logic Pro and the Unity and Unreal game engines are required. A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of industry experience in relevant areas are required. Teaching experience at the college level is preferred.

The successful completion of a criminal background check is required as a condition of employment.
