GEO Student Success Coordinator

About the Opportunity

Position Dates: Immediate Opening- December 30 (on-site departure December 13)

Salary: Bi-Weekly Rate $1312.00 non-negotiable, housing provided while on site, not benefits eligible. Greece staff also receive 2 meals a day as part of their compensation.

The N.U.in Program is a pre-matriculation opportunity that provides a credit-bearing opportunity for incoming first-year students to explore a rigorous academic experience in one of our global campus networks. N.U.in students study at one of our partner institutions during their semester and enter Northeastern University in the spring semester of their first year. Partner universities provide academic courses to the participants while N.U.in staff provide on-site leadership and support services.

We are hiring several GEO Student Success Coordinator positions for our global on the ground staff, also referred to as “on-site staff". The N.U.in on-site staff support the physical, emotional, social, and academic needs of first-year students. In addition to supporting staff at the host institution, these staff members focus on creating positive and valuable experiential learning. Students are supported in their academic coursework, host city navigation, and student residences. Coordinators work in staff teams and are supervised by an on-site professional staff member. Site staff enthusiastically embody the mission and values of the N.U.in Program and Northeastern University while working and living in close proximity to first-year students.

This position is a short-term commitment with full workdays internationally for the Fall 2022 semester (dates vary by location). This is an in-person position that requires site staff to live in student accommodation with students during the Fall 2022 semester which runs from August - December 2022.

The GEO Student Success Coordinators are responsible for supporting facets of the N.U.in Program in Greece.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate student programs and excursions. These programs can be during the day, in the evenings, and/or on the weekends
  • Mentor first-year students who are not only entering college for the first time, but could also studying away from home
  • Encourage student academic success, respond to student concerns, and connect students to on-site academic, medical, and mental health resources
  • Monitor student behavioral policies and protocols, upholding a high standard of student conduct
  • Maintain the safety and well-being of the participants by serving in a 24/7 on-call rotation and conducting regular rounds of student residences

GEO Student Success Coordinators will work collaboratively to ensure students' safety and well-being and contribute to the development and overall success of the program. Responsibilities may vary based on site placement.

Why should you apply?
  • Gain essential experience planning events, managing students in large quantities, and supporting their academic success
  • Apply previous experience living, working, studying, or volunteering in new environments
  • Ability to demonstrate and further develop administrative skills, interpersonal communication, and cross-cultural awareness in an international context
  • Work alongside a robust network of passionate and supportive staff and faculty
