Position Summary

T his is a temporary assignment that will end at the discretion of the department or when funding or hours are exhausted.

Governors State University is seeking an Extra Help School-Age/Preschool teacher to be responsible for the school-age children enrolled in our Before and After Care Program and School Age Summer Camp.

During May through August, the Extra Help School-Age/Preschool teacher will be expected to help in the other classrooms, as part of the essential responsibilities, when school-age children are in their district schools. The incumbent will also be responsible for getting the school-age children from school buses and following through with the assigned responsibilities each day.

• The hourly rate of pay is $16.00
• Work Schedule: 12:30 pm – 6:00 pm

Work hours may vary according to program needs

Minimum Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. Illinois Early Childhood Education Credential Level 1

1. As of September 30, 2017, all teachers, assistants, and aides are required to have an Illinois Early Childhood Education Credential Level 1. If Applicant does not have the credential they will be required to attain within 30 days after hire.

2. Possession of credentials required by Illinois Department of Children and Family Services for employment as a Child Care Worker in a licensed child care facility. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services required credentials can be reviewed at:
