Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

The office exists to provide support services to students, faculty, and staff in their endeavor to fulfill the mission of the university. Responsibilities and activities included in these support services are to maintain and monitor the evaluation of undergraduate transfer credit for accepted transfer students. Also, responsible for articulating transient study and international study, enrolling and registering students, certifying enrollment status to outside agencies, withdrawing students from classes, providing transcript services for students and alumni, maintaining student records, processing and verifying student grades, processing student applications for graduation, to maintain student biographic/demographic data, and to maintain the university course inventory file. The Registrar’s Office is responsible for the integrity of the data on students’ records as well as all other data needed to generate reports from the student information system files.

Brief Summary of Work for this Position

Maintains and updates student records via the Student Information System. Oversees the major change application. Processes directed individual study and internships, as approved by deans, as well as adds and drops for the non-attendance/roll-verification policy and semester withdrawals. Oversees non-degree student registration. Point of contact for Honors College processes. Must have good customer service and communication skills due to frequent contact with students, faculty, staff, and the general public and excellent data entry, organizational and time-management skills. Requires graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through at least three years of office assistant/secretarial experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Business or technical training is a plus. Experience with student records and registration systems is desired, and strong Banner familiarity is preferable.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
