Wake Forest University is a top private research university in Winston-Salem, North Carolina that enrolls more than 8,000 students and is ranked by U.S. News & World Report among the top 30 universities in the nation for the twenty-seventh consecutive year, with special recognition for excellence in undergraduate teaching and as a “best value” institution.

Wake Forest community members show a deep connection to and care for each other and a shared commitment to thriving and serving. This ethos is demonstrated by shared purpose; pride in the remarkable accomplishments of its students, faculty, staff, and alumni; and the focus that the motto — Pro Humanitate — provides. The teacher-scholar model is deeply valued here as evidenced by a longstanding commitment to meaningful student-faculty interaction.

Forbes ranked Wake Forest the top employer in North Carolina in its 2022 list of America's Best Employers by State. The University’s annual operating budget is approximately $1.7 billion and its endowment is valued at $1.35 billion. In August 2022, WFU officially launched the strategic framework process to articulate the University’s priorities leading up to WFU’s 200th anniversary in 2034.

Wake Forest welcomed its 14th president, Dr. Susan R. Wente, in July 2021. Like Wake Forest, Dr. Wente has a history of taking bold steps in higher education. She was selected not only for her exceptional reputation as an accomplished biomedical scientist and charismatic leader, but also for her vision of Wake Forest as a welcoming and inclusive community, known for “radical collaboration,” that will continue to graduate leaders with integrity, ready to be catalysts for good in the world.

Reporting to Wake Forest University’s President, Dr. Susan Wente, and serving on the University Cabinet, the Executive Vice President provides visionary and effective stewardship of WFU’s financial and administrative resources. The EVP is responsible for the financial and administrative oversight of the University, including the following:

  • Financial and accounting services;
  • Budget and financial planning;
  • Finance systems;
  • Information systems;
  • Human resources;
  • Institutional Equity Office (new unit);
