Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
- Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Soil Science, or closely related field.
- Capacity to write and maintain laboratory protocols.
- Ability to conduct statistical analysis.
- Ability to prepare soil, plant, and animal tissue extracts.
- Ability to follow chemical preparation procedures.
- Ability to write SOP’s and protocols for a laboratory setting.
- Masters Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Soil Science, or closely related field.
- Experience working with small agricultural producers.
- Forage identification skills.
- Soil sampling skills.
- Public speaking and teaching experience.
Responsible for providing equipment to faculty, instructors, and students for their daily labs and ensuring laboratory supplies are available and that equipment is in working order.
Job Duties
- Writing SOP’s and lab protocols.
- Monitoring SOP’s and lab protocols.
- Managing laboratory data and chain of custody.
- Statistical analysis.
- Make extracts of soils and plant tissue.
- Operating analytic equipment.
- Public speaking with small farmers and ranchers.
- Conduct laboratory procedures and maintain laboratory orderliness.
This is a grant-funded position for two years. There may be opportunities to extend the existing agreement and/or secure grant funds from another source for work beyond the existing timeframe.
