Position Function
In collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Planning and Management and the Director of Admissions and Orientation and its leadership staff, assist the Office of Admissions and Orientation in meeting its enrollment goals by actively participating in recruitment and yield programming initiatives targeting prospective students and coordinating selected visit programs; supervise the welcome center staff and tour guides; collaborate with campus faculty and staff.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum Experience
At least three years of relevant educational or outreach work experience.
Minimum Other
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral) with a customer service orientation; ability to speak before large groups or audiences; comfort and experience with computer technology; ability to load and transport admissions materials, displays, and other equipment; possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the university’s auto fleet policy.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred Experience
Five years of professional-level experience in related fields of admissions and/or higher education, supervision, work with Slate CRM, travel recruitment and territory management, marketing and communications. Experience working with underrepresented student populations.

Job Duty
Manage the Welcome Center and develop processes for communicating with prospective students; coordinate and manage campus visits for prospective students and other campus guests; collaborate with departments on academic appointments, assure delivery and quality of service in providing daily informational presentations and tours for over 15,000 guests per year; assist professional staff if needed during travel season ; possess working knowledge and familiarity of high schools and high school counselors in assigned market area to include visit policy, enrollment history (into Ball State), and academic profile of each high school; provide support with targeted recruitment visits to feeder high schools, spring visits to attract high school juniors, by: making decisions with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and other leadership regarding which schools to visit, making decisions independently regarding timing and scheduling of visits, performing appropriate follow-up, cultivating non-productive high schools, maintaining positive relationships with high school counseling professionals, and assessing market culture to meet enrollment goals; building and maintaining of campus visits in CRM /Slate and provide detailed monthly analytics for visits.

Provide support with coordination and assessment of various admissions programs including on- and off-campus yield receptions, recruitment programs, and various special events (i.e. orientation, diversity, and transfer initiatives). Utilize Slate for off and on campus recruitment & yield event reports to collect crucial data. Schedule academic appointments for guests and support other campus units through initiating interaction and appointments. Meet with departments annually to discuss their processes.
