Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the full-time, exempt position of Director of Field Experience. This position reports directly to the Dean of the College of Education and is located in River Forest, IL.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Early Field Experience Supervision

  • Supervises early field experience placements for pre-service teacher candidates
  • Monitors evaluation of teacher candidates in early field experiences
  • Coordinates with and supports the work of the Field Experience Facilitator
  • Supervises and evaluates the Assistant Director and Field Experience Facilitator

Student Teaching Internship Supervision

  • Supervises and secures placements for student teachers in PK-12 schools
  • Recruits, develops, supervises, and evaluates University Internship Supervisors
  • Develops and updates internship documents
  • Coordinates and leads internship and edTPA seminars
  • Supervises and communicates with interns, their supervisors, classroom teachers, and program leaders
  • Supervises the collection and management of assessment data
  • Schedules and organizes Positive Impact Presentations (PIP)

School Partnerships

  • Develops and maintains mutually beneficial and innovative partnerships with PK-12 Schools
  • Plans and facilitates regular meetings with partnership stakeholders
  • Maintains documentation of partnerships
  • Establishes and maintains partnerships that are consistent with accreditation requirements

Data Analysis

  • Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Field Experience to preserve data for accreditation and state reports
  • Organizes data to develop meaningful analyses
  • Analyzes data and writes reports for various accrediting agencies

  • Ability to serve as an energetic leader with a passion for developing meaningful partnerships between the College of Education and PK-12 schools
  • Exhibits a service mentality toward all stakeholders
  • Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication with stakeholders that is effective, professional, accurate, and timely
  • Ability to manage and work collaboratively with faculty and staff
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • A successful track record of creative thinking and situational problem solving

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Familiarity with and prior experience with Illinois licensure laws and edTPA
  • 3-5 years of prior teaching experience in a K-12 setting

Education Requirements:

A Master's Degree in the field of Education is required, a terminal degree is preferred.
