POSITION PURPOSE:
Within Academic Affairs, the main mission of Library Services is to provide and promote a full range of supportive, quality services to CSUB students, faculty, staff, and community members. We provide library patrons research, reserve and check-out assistance, lend and borrow items from other libraries, assist students at our AV campus with their research needs and assist library users on the use of library equipment.
Under the general supervision of the Interim Director of Library Operations and Development, this position is responsible for performing the full range of various library duties including but not limited to providing tech support and marketing for events and services held in the library, including graphic design, video streaming, and social media assignments as well as event set up/take down. The incumbent checks in/out library materials and provides assistance to library patrons at Check Out Desk. May supervise the work of Student Assistants. In addition, the incumbent serves as a resource for faculty, staff, students, and community as they utilize library services and attend events in the library. The incumbent may assist with library opening and closing procedures as required, including counting cash and securing the building. Schedule will vary, and includes evening and weekend based on library and event hours.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in technology support for events including knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Suite, DLSR and Mirrorless Cameras.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES (SKA's) –
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: MEDIUM WORK- up to 40% of the activities involve sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling or walking; lifting heavy weight objects limited to 50 pounds; may involve pushing and pulling objects within the weight limits.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Event Tech Support
- Independently provide equipment setup and take down for events in the library such as ceremonies, film screenings, lectures, panel discussions, special guest/author presentations, etc. Regularly exercise judgement and discretion to determine the need to work with IT for larger events that require more tech support.
- Set up and coordinate live stream events and equipment. This includes creating YouTube streaming pages, webinars, and Zooms using knowledge of mobile platforms and the use of devices for immediate posting and user interaction.
- Provide tech support to event host/administrator/department during in person events and during streaming by ensuring setup and connection of sound, microphones, TVs, and cameras. Ensures equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoots issues as they arise.
- Perform videography using thorough knowledge of gimbals, sliders, microphones, external monitors, mirrorless cameras, lighting contrast, post production, and interviews. This includes editing, postproduction, and creation of original content.
B. Library Social Media & Marketing
- Responsible for independently creating and editing content for social media postings and digital displays for the library using social media platforms and cloud services. Content is reviewed and approved by the Dean or Director of Library Operations prior to posting.
- Create and design signage and marketing materials for the library. Distribute print items to appropriate library area for other library personnel to physically post. Digital posts done via USB and cloud services. Collaborate with the campus print shop and/or IT media production lab when needed.
- Maintain library hours and announcements on library webpages, google and digital displays.
C. Security, Safety & Facilities
- Performs opening or closing procedures for the building. This includes conducting sweeps of all floors; securing money, valuables, doors, the 24-Hour Room, study rooms, stacks, materials, and elevators; and notifying patrons of impending closure.
- Reports damaged or failed equipment/software, furniture, light fixtures, or plumbing fixtures, elevator malfunctions and alarm failures to the Dean's Administrative Assistant or specified technician as needed.
- Notes areas which need cleaning or additional supplies and notifies the Dean's Office, Campus Copiers and/or custodial personnel to have the situation(s) addressed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
