About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Regional CEO & Dean, the Associate Dean serves as a member of the leadership team, responsible for the planning and coordination of academic delivery, effective delivery of student services, academic planning, licensure, compliance, accreditation processes and protocols. The Associate Dean plays a key role in fulfilling the vision of the Campus and all the activities that position the Campus as a strong asset in the region. The Associate Dean will serve as the onsite lead for the campus construction and design teams, oversee the installation of all campus systems and furniture, and will ensure that all systems and processes are in place for the formal campus opening in early 2023. This position's scope will expand along with the growth of the Campus. This person will often serve as the Campus lead in absence of the Dean. The Associate Dean will work with the Boston-based College Deans, Associate Deans, Program Directors and other academic personnel to ensure the delivery of programs that are the highest quality and aligned with local and regional workforce needs. The Associate Dean will serve as a lead for innovating new academic programs in collaboration with the academic colleges and the regional network. This position ensures that the Northeastern brand presence is projected both externally and internally through the delivery of high-quality academic programs and student services. The Associate Dean will manage and serve as the primary contact for campus licensure, compliance, accreditation criteria and processes for the governing authority. Alongside the Regional CEO & Dean, the Associate Dean will contribute to and monitor strategic plans, progress toward Campus goals, budgeting and reports, and other academic related projects that enhance and support the mission of the Campus. The Associate Dean oversees the Campus Operations Manager and other administrative and student services staff.   • Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through a master's degree in business, education, leadership or a related field plus at least five years of relevant experience that includes event management, project management, policies, and facility/campus operations

  • Experience in an academic setting highly desirable but not required

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

    1) Faculty/Academic Coordination

    Serves as a strategist for determining academic programs, including recommending innovative new academic curricula, and implementation. Serves as primary liaison with Boston-based College Deans, Associate Deans, Program Directors, other academic personnel and regional network colleagues to ensure programs are of the highest academic quality and aligned with local and regional workforce needs. Ensures that faculty and students have the proper classroom setup, technology available, etc., to deliver the best learning/teaching experience.

    2) Budget Planning/Fiscal Management

    Responsible for strategic budget planning and oversight of campus budgets to ensure efficient and effective use of fiscal resources to achieve financial and enrollment goals. Works collaboratively with Boston-based staff to set budget goals for each fiscal year to include revenue/expense projections, enrollment targets, and effective pro forma management.

    3) Facilities and Events Management

    Onsite lead for the Arlington campus buildout to include construction, design, systems and furniture installation, security, and vendor partnerships. Co-ordinates and schedules Northeastern University - Arlington activities and events to include recruitment activities, student and community events, and other activities to serve both internal and external stakeholders. Supervises support staff to ensure quality customer and student experience.

    4) Licensure, Compliance and Accreditation

    Manages the Campus licensure, compliance, and accreditation criteria and processes in consultation with the governing authority.
