About the Opportunity

Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Marketing and Programs will contribute to the strategic leadership and operational oversight of the CRI's marketing and programs units for the purposes of: 1. promoting the visibility and enhancing the reputation of Northeastern research and entrepreneurship, 2. increasing awareness and engagement with CRI's suite of patent, commercialization, and venture services, 3. developing innovative marketing and programming that educates and inspires the research community and creates vibrant connections with commercial partners. Technology transfer and the commercialization of university research is a highly specialized domain, and the Assistant Director will help solidify CRI and Northeastern as a leader in the field.

Minimum Qualifications:
The Assistant Director of Marketing and Programs must have a minimum of a master's degree. Five+ years of professional experience in managing marketing and program activities in a technology transfer office, preferably within higher education. The individual in this position must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess a record of demonstrated leadership and of motivating staff to complete projects in a timely fashion with superior quality. The individual must also possess outstanding communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills alongside an aptitude for directing detail-oriented projects. The individual must have the ability to work independently as well as with teams of colleagues. The Assistant Director of Marketing and Programs must have strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and balance responsibilities coupled with a keen, decisive, and innovative approach to strategically executing an organization's mission. The individual in this position must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights, weekends, and light travel.

Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the strategic vision, leadership, and oversight of the marketing and program units of the CRI. Actively participating in high-level executive decisions regarding CRI's branding, marketing, and programmatic offerings, ensuring alignment with, and fulfillment of, CRI's mission. Collaboratively create cutting-edge strategies for increasing brand awareness and programmatic offerings that drive engagement with Northeastern's innovation ecosystem; substantially contribute to the writing of comprehensive marketing and program plans comprised of new and existing offerings to meet CRI's strategic goals. (35%)

Help oversee the implementation of the marketing plan in order to inspire, inform, educate, and engage CRI's internal and external audiences. Help direct the development and distribution of marketing content and materials through relevant channels. Assist in directing and supervising the staff of the marketing unit, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and quality of CRI branding and communications in order to achieve critical milestones. Help develop key performance indicators for unit staff and promote an equitable environment that provides ample opportunity for professional development. Monitor the collection of marketing metrics, analyze data, and devise means for increasing content reach and impact. Conduct competitive research to stay informed, and ahead, of industry trends. (25%)

Help direct the development, management, and execution of CRI programs and events, ensuring effectiveness, quality, and timeliness in order to achieve critical milestones. Assist in directing and supervising the staff of the program unit and help develop key performance indicators for unit staff while helping to promote an equitable environment that provides ample opportunity for professional development. Monitor the collection of program/event metrics, analyze data, and devise means for increasing participation and impact. Conduct competitive research to stay informed, and ahead, of industry trends. (25%)

Cultivate relationships with Northeastern leadership, faculty, and staff that deepen awareness of, and engagement with, CRI services and programs. Cultivate relationships with pivotal industry representatives and investors that facilitate multipronged participation in Northeastern's innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Cultivate relationships with key media outlets and program organizations in order to extend the reach of CRI's messaging and program engagement. Foster a community of value creation and exchange between CRI's internal and external audiences that enhance relationships and facilitates the commercialization of university assets, generates revenue and contributes to societal impact. (15%)
