Position: Non-Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor
Reports to: Chair, Clinical Psychology Department
Status: Full-time, 9-month position
Start Date: August 15, 2023
General Description: Notre Dame de Namur University, in Belmont, CA, is seeking a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty member to teach in the graduate Clinical Psychology Department, beginning Fall 2023. Candidates are aligned with the scholar-practitioner model and actively contribute to the community. This position involves teaching graduate Clinical Psychology courses in the late afternoon, evening, and weekend program, including summer, while being involved in University and Department service, growth, and development roles that may include committee work, program development, professional program development, professional networking, recruitment, promotion, and student mentoring. Courses may include clinical, psychotherapy, and/or research classes. The position requires actively contributing to the Clinical Psychology Department as part of a small team of full-time faculty. Professional experience in psychotherapy, graduate-level teaching, community engagement, and mentoring is required.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in psychology from a regionally-accredited university department of psychology
- Licensed clinical psychologist with current CA license and active clinical work strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience teaching a range of Clinical Psychology courses at the graduate level
Other qualifications (highly desirable):
- Demonstrated experience working with students of diverse populations.
- Experience with academic committees, developing professional programs, and knowledge of continuing education programs.
- Demonstrated experience teaching traditional and non-traditional age students.
- Community engagement work, specialized clinical training, and community connections that support NDNU students and their growth.
Salary Range: Classification and salary scale placement will be based on years of teaching experience and considered at the time of hire.
- Assistant Professor: $57,827 - $67,125
- Associate Professor: $68,117 - $76,666
