STATUS:tPart-time, up to 28 hours per week (Dec 2022 – March 2023; or as otherwise modified)

REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Compliance
PLACEMENT: Support Non-Union H06
MINIMUM PAY RATE:t$19.78/hr.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position serves as a temporary program coordinator to the Executive Director, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Compliance by performing DEI programming functions, assignments, and projects. Duties include researching and building out diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, coordinating communication efforts/outreach, attendance at events, both virtually and in-person, and participating in committee work and special assignments.

Works independently on projects, from conception to completion, with multiple priorities of a variety of activities and confidential matters. Demonstrates commitment to continuous quality improvement and to providing outstanding service to a variety of internal and external stakeholders and maintaining an overall standard of excellence for the staff in the Office of DEIC.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collaborate with internal stakeholders regarding DEI initiatives and programming which includes campus communication, reserving space, placing work orders and media requests.
2. Planning, scheduling and implementing DEI programming and initiatives including DEI book clubs, monthly diversity awareness sessions, peace circles and table talks.
3. Plan, manage, track and report the registration and completion of Cultural Competency Workshops for faculty and staff
4. Independently compose correspondence on a wide variety of matters, including material of a confidential nature
5. Helps with marketing efforts for programs, including outreach to the JJC campus community and external community
6. Oversees administrative activities of DEI programs and initiatives.
7. Collect data, prepare reports, and present information as required.
8. Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate’s Degree.
2. Two (2) years of related work experience.
3. Strong organizational and program management skills.
4. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to and communicate complex information in an approachable manner.
5. Demonstrated use of technology and Microsoft Office software.
6. Proven ability to handle complex and sensitive functions with discretion and confidentiality.
7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
8. Demonstrated commitment to the college’s core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s Degree.
2. Experience working with corporate, non-profit, or educational leadership.
3. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
4. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Normal office physical demands.
2. Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.

WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment.
