The Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama (UA) invites applications for a tenure-track Associate or Full Professor faculty position in Business Cyber Security. This open position builds on an existing strength among the Culverhouse faculty in cybersecurity research and supports The University of Alabama Cyber Institute (UACI). Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in their business discipline, a successful track record of grantsmanship and academic publication, and will demonstrate evidence of excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching. 

Detailed Position Information
This open position builds on an existing strength among the Culverhouse faculty in cybersecurity research and supports The University of Alabama Cyber Institute (UACI). The mission of the UACI is to advance the understanding of the dynamics associated with cybersecurity issues and to develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity research and education program at The University of Alabama. Driven by this interdisciplinary perspective and recognizing that cybersecurity issues arise in every business discipline, candidates with research foci across the broad domain of cybersecurity are encouraged to apply. Candidates with interdisciplinary backgrounds connecting security to other domains are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will become part of the Information Systems faculty who are housed within the Information Systems, Statistics, and Management Science department.

The position start date is August 16, 2023.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and achievements. Before hiring, the candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment background verification.

Minimum Qualifications
Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in their business discipline, a successful track record of grantsmanship and academic publication, and will demonstrate evidence of excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching.

At the Associate Professor rank, candidates must have a strong track record of cybersecurity academic publication, funded research, and student mentorship. At the rank of Full Professor, in addition to a strong publishing record and funded research, candidates must possess national or international recognition as a leader in cybersecurity research.
