West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Neuroradiology and the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute seek Neuroradiologists (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of neuroradiology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Candidates must be ABR and Neuroradiology CAQ certified/eligible with fellowship training in diagnostic neuroradiology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

The West Virginia University Neuroradiology Department is an innovative initiative and one of the first in the country. It continues the integration of neurological care, research, and education under the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. The department offers the full gamut of advanced neuroimaging services that underpin all facets of clinical and academic neurosciences – from early diagnosis to neuroimaging guided brain therapies for a wide range of functional and cognitive disorders. The department manages a large magnetic resonance imaging operation and provides consultation services to the entire health system. An imaging analytics and informatics division of the department is spearheading initiatives in artificial intelligence and federated research. This has the potential to transform multicenter research collaboration, clinical trials, and utilizing big data to improve patient care. Our mission is to provide excellent patient care, quality education, and exceptional service to the state of West Virginia and surrounding communities.

The department has a nationally recognized Neurointerventional program for state-of-the-art management of cerebrovascular disorders and stroke. Participation and leadership in innovative clinical trials has put this program at the forefront of minimally invasive treatment of head, neck, and spine pathologies. The department has two accredited fellowship programs, a diagnostic neuroradiology fellowship accredited by the ACGME and an endovascular neurosurgery fellowship accredited by CAST.

The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute guides a team of 220 dedicated faculty in providing compassionate patient care and advanced medicine through education, research, and outreach in the many diverse communities we serve. The Institute spearheads efforts to develop innovative solutions for neurological and psychiatric conditions ranging from Alzheimer’s to Parkinson’s; autism to stroke; and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, and traumatic brain injury.
