Position Summary

The Associate Marketing Implementation Engineer will assist and support the marketing analytics, website, optimization, and paid media teams by assisting tracking requirements using tools like Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Salesforce. The position will be responsible for ensuring the system is accurately collecting data across all platforms that have an impact on the marketing metrics. This position will help ensure analytics implementations follow best practices for new and existing measurement partners (Facebook, Google, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and other reporting / ad platforms). Daily tasks will include reviewing Google Tag Manager settings, updating code snippets on NU properties and reviewing daily data.

Essential Functions:
  • Assists in requirement definition, documentation and solution design of integrations and the analytics data layer in support of new and existing web analytics and media measurement tools.
  • Ensures that tracking implementations do not negatively impact page load times or user experience.
  • Responsible for designing and executing quality assurance tests of analytics tags and reconciling analytics across multiple systems.
  • Works with Marketing Analysts and Developers to ensure tracking capabilities are implemented properly.
  • Ensures that the correct variables and dimensions are captured for data integration across data sources.
  • Performs tag audits, identifies data collection issues, and gaps, documents and owns tagging issues.
  • Communicates technical information to key stakeholders.
  • Handle data preparation for portions of projects
  • Support integration of solutions within existing business processes using automation techniques
  • Collaborate with others to create and monitor analytics tagging standards
  • Implement new analytics tags, test and validate tagging changes through the development lifecycle
  • Assist marketing teams with engineering and managing digital data layer across various digital properties
  • Proactively identifies and execute on opportunities to enhance system’s data collection and business intelligence activities to increase the overall maturity of National University’s marketing analytics.
  • Completes accountability of testing implementations
  • Assist marketing teams with engineering and managing digital data layer across various digital properties
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individual of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience in digital marketing analytics
  • 1+ years’ experience working in web analytics tools, media measurement platforms, or marketing science
  • 1+ years’ experience with web analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Omniture, CDP.)
  • 1+ years’ experience of Tag Management implementation & configuration (Google Tag Manager preferred)
  • 1+ years’ experience in digital marketing
  • Experience in higher education is a plus.
  • Familiar with Salesforce API, AdTech and Martech tools in the Consumer Data and Paid Media space e.g. DMPs, CDPs, CRMs, ad servers etc. and knowledge of Multi-touch attribution (MTA) methods and practice is helpful
  • Experience consuming web-based data connections including OData, REST and SOAP APIs and programming with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is helpful
Competencies/Technical/Functional Skills:
  • Microsoft Office Suite 365
  • Experience in creating and maintaining sequence, data flow and process diagrams
  • Moderate skill with SQL-based queries (SOQL, MySQL, etc.) is helpful
  • Experience in SEO, PPC, or email marketing is a plus.
  • Moderate level abilities with GTM (Google Tag Manager) and related applications
  • Strong problem solving, critical and analytical thinking skills.
