Position Summary
The Early Childhood Research Specialist at Texas Policy Lab will assist the TPL project on pressing early childhood policy issues in Texas in collaboration with Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). Under the guidance of the PI, the Research Specialist will assist with the research through recruitment and consenting process of the study, collecting data, and communicating with the participants. This is a term limited position until June 2024 with the possibility of extension based upon need and available funding.
Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000 / year
Essential Functions
- Conducts independent specialized research and experiments
- Collects, tracks, and analyzes data using spreadsheets and databases
- Communicates results through verbal presentations, written reports, and written articles submitted for publication in conjunction with PI
- May monitor research budget
- May assist in administration of research project
- Schedule zoom visits with study participants
- Administer qualitative interviews with study participants
- Participate in the specific training performing qualitative data collection
- Complete and get certified on specific TWC data access training
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- Good listening, verbal and written communication, analytical, and research skills
- Excellent scientific and numerical skills with meticulous attention to details and accuracy
- Ability to work in a team environment, to participate actively, to collaborate and to motivate others in the lab
- Good critical thinking, technical, data collection and interviewing skills
- Good statistical and graphical analysis skills
- Ability to plan and schedule effectively
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three years of experience
