Pre-Health Experiential Learning Coordinator



Position Summary:

Come join the Pre-Medical Program at the University of Dayton. We are hiring a Pre-Health Experiential Learning Coordinator that will help connect students with clinical opportunities and community engaged learning.

This position supports pre-health students from across campus by coordinating experiential learning opportunities including clinical, service, and summer experiences and serves as a primary contact for communication with external and campus partners for experiential and community engaged learning. Assists Premedical Program faculty and staff in developing newsletters, program flyers, and webpages. Coordinates health professional school seminar series. Supports planning and execution of annual UD & MVH Healthcare Symposium. Supports collaboration with the School of Education and Health Sciences.

This full time position is 10 months per year (August 1 to May 31)

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree
-At least two years of full time experience working with college or university academic office coordinating and placing students in clinical or service experiences
-Experience or training that demonstrates the ability to use Word, Excel, email, and/or similar software applications to produce reports, written correspondence, newsletters and flyers, and create and maintain spreadsheets or reports
-Successful experience with event planning and community engagement
-Articulated ability to support the University of Dayton’s commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion
-Ability to engage effectively, respectfully, and professionally with multiple constituents at all levels in an organization such as faculty members, staff, administration, students, parents, and university guests
-Ability to accurately record and promulgate decisions
-Successful experience managing assigned workload to meet predetermined deadlines
-Ability to independently compose office correspondence and to accurately proofread written material, identify and correct -errors in grammar, punctuation and spelling
-Interest in working to increase opportunities for students to engage in experiential learning
-Effective written and verbal communication skills

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

-Master’s Degree
-Knowledge of University of Dayton academic and curriculum structures, policies and procedures
-Knowledge of the unique needs of a student centered environment
-Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
-Experience with working across university divisions
-Familiarity with the healthcare field
-Ability to bring together multiple documents, policies, procedures into a coherent whole
-Successful experience keeping track of details
-Experience with Gmail and Google Calendar, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides
-Knowledge of and sensitivity to Catholic and Marianist values at the University of Dayton

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
