This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance for you and your dependents, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

This 12-month position is designed to provide outreach and prevention education, direct service of intervention to students as it relates to alcohol and other drug issues, and recovery support. This will include facilitating Alcohol and Drug Check-ups, the Substance Education Program, Recovery is Spoken Here faculty and staff training and THRIVE presentations for students, outreach to athletics and classroom presentations. This position will also serve as a consultant to parents, faculty, and staff regarding alcohol and drug issues, and co-lead the Alcohol and Recovery Advisory Group. Clinical support and oversight will be provided by the Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
A current and active LCDC III Chemical Dependency Licensure or higher licensure.
3 years experience in Chemical Dependency counseling field.
Comprehensive knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and Risk-Reduction strategies and techniques.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

A current and active LICDC Chemical Dependency Licensure.
Demonstrate 5 years of experience in the Chemical Dependency counseling field
Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of risk reduction strategies.
Knowledge of college-specific substance abuse prevention.
Demonstrate experience with traditional college-aged consumers.
Awareness of collegiate recovery communities.
Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
