Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Community Child Health Unit in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.:517536) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in public health, community child health, statistics, data science or other related disciplines. They should demonstrate a deep understanding of the application of big data for outcome research and modelling (medication use and/or diseases), with an excellent track record of biomedical science research. Having an excellent command of written and spoken English and Cantonese, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential as well. They should be organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team. The appointee will conduct high-impact research related to health economics and big data, especially in the child and elderly population. They will use various approaches to explore big data in order to evaluate outcomes of various interventions.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
