Cellular Therapy and Transplant Assistant Professor, CE Track, Pediatric Oncology

The Division of Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplant and CAR T-cell therapy. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree and be board-certified in pediatric hematology/oncology.

Teaching responsibilities may include didactic and clinical instruction of junior faculty, residents, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students and medical students.

Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient and outpatient care focused on children, adolescents and young adults receiving cellular therapy and hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) at the Philadelphia University City Hospital, and active involvement in fellowship training. The candidate should have completed dedicated post-fellowship training in cellular immunotherapy and/or HSCT and have at least two years of experience as an attending physician in cellular therapy and transplant after completion of fellowship training. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing patients with high-risk leukemia treated with CAR T-cell therapy and performing stem cell transplant for both malignant and non-malignant disorders.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include expanding translational and clinical research efforts in cellular therapy. The successful applicant will be academically productive, collaborative, and able to expand our already robust research enterprise. The successful candidate must have a strong record of research productivity related to CAR T-cell therapy for ALL, an established record of peer-reviewed scholarship and extramural grant funding. Experience in developing and working with large institutional and multicenter databases to conduct CAR T-cell research and K08 or equivalent national funding are strongly preferred.
