Scope of Job:
Perform expert level duties in the Analysis, Design, Development, and Implementation for the computer-based Enterprise Administrative systems to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and support the business processes of the University. This includes the Student, Finance, Human Resources (ERP systems) and all associated third party software applications.

Description of Duties:
• Software Development Phase:

o Displays expert requirement analysis skills that includes the various tasks of gathering, analyzing, documenting, validating and managing software requirements.
o Displays expert level coding skills that involve the creation of a technical design document to provide a technical solution using abstract concepts and adhering to standards developed by the department, primarily to procedures relating to Software Development Lifecycle.
o Analysis/Design - Expert level skills for effectively communicating with the customer (most cases a business analyst or equivalent) to obtain information for creating technical documentation and providing the details for code development with emphasis in ingenuity and creativity to design and create new, functional software programs and complete applications.
o Demonstrates expert level testing skills to validate the code before releasing to customer for integrated testing.
o Coordinates development unit testing of code before releasing to customer for Functional Testing.
o Problem Solver Duty - Responsible for investigating and resolving problem issues occurring during scheduled week at an expert level pace with no assistance.

• Acts as the Workload Manager, including management and prioritizing workload submitted by customer.
• Responsible for Technical Research to keep job knowledge up-to-date and in most cases self-teach new languages and new development tools to ensure the most feasible technical solution is proposed. Expert technical resource for junior members.
• Responsible for Quality Assurance, including reviewing objects to be moved to production and responsible for reviewing the changes provided by junior developers to ensure coding and documentations meet expectations as defined. Authorized to reject implementation until corrections made to the teams’ satisfaction.
• Expert in Adhoc Reporting code development - Creates and maintains adhoc SQL scripts\queries that are run from the Enterprise Administrative systems production environment.
• Responsible for Enterprise Administrative systems Upgrades - Authorized Technical Lead to coordinate (between teams), troubleshoot and research issues relating to technical upgrade installations to Enterprise Administrative systems.
• Manages customer service requests and coordinates resolution or redirection to appropriate team.
• Coordinate Teams - Coordinates/facilitates system changes with the Enterprise Administrative systems Business Analysts, Database Administrators, Application Administrators, Access Administration Team and IT Service Desk.
• On Call Responsibilities- Required to be available for work during non-business hours
• Managing Test Environment Access - Responsible for granting, authorizing and documenting access to the test instances to the functional customers.
• Policy/Procedure Development - Developing team standard operating procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

General supervision from assigned supervisor.

Supervision Given:
May supervise assigned staff.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a Computer related major from an accredited university.

Preferred Education:
None.

Licenses/Certifications:
Preferred: ITIL Foundation Certification

Required Experience:
Six (6) years of experience in working with several software languages in a structured environment using common software industry practices that include the phases of analysis, design, development, testing and implementation.

Equipment:
Required: Use of standard office equipment.

Working Conditions:
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend/evening work is required.

Ability to multitask assignments, extreme flexibility on assignments types and the knowledge needs to be very extensive in the technical aspects of their duties. Possess resourcefulness and creative thinking skills for problem resolution. Possess analytical skills to effectively and accurately identify problem code. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Possess Technical Research skills (technical manuals and resources). Work effectively as an individual and as a team. Possess strong technical writing skills for documentation.
