UWM College of Nursing, the largest College of Nursing in Wisconsin, has been widely recognized for its innovation, leadership in the profession of nursing, and extensive collaboration with diverse community agencies. The College supports the University’s urban mission by responding to the health needs of individuals, families, groups, and populations in urban communities. Opened in Fall 2022, the UWM James and Yvonne Ziemer Clinical Simulation Center provides a state-of-the-art learning facility where students practice clinical skills in a safe environment. The simulation center houses several labs, including a birthing room, an apartment, clinic rooms, and other areas to provide simulated learning experiences.

UWM College of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Nursing (MN), Master of Sustainable Peacebuilding (MSP), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs. UW-Milwaukee offers the BS in Nursing at UWM, UWM at Waukesha and UW-Parkside through a consortial partnership. Students are placed in clinical sites throughout Southeastern Wisconsin in proximity to each campus location.

Job Summary
Working within the UWM James and Yvonne Ziemer Clinical Simulation Center, the Clinical Simulation Technician will assist Simulation staff and faculty in the use of technology in learning applications and equipment using a wide variety of available technologies, such as: human patient simulators, task trainers, PC presentation software, and audiovisual equipment.

The distribution of duties for this position is approximately 60% Simulation Operation, 35% Administrative Duties and 5% Other Duties.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in healthcare or related field, healthcare education, or healthcare simulation environment
  • Basic computer skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or terminal degree in healthcare related field
  • Experience as a healthcare worker, which may include RN, LPN, CNA, MA, paramedic, medic, EMT, Emergency Tech, RT, Health Unit Coordinator/Secretary, or hospital technician
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy/physiology
  • Experience with human patient simulators and audiovisual equipment
  • Knowledge of nursing skills equipment, computer and educational software
