Position Summary:
The UI Foundation's Accountant position is a position in the professional accounting series applying basic knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices. Under direct supervision of an experienced accountant or finance unit manager, the Accountant I work assignments include some or all of the following: compilation and maintenance of records of routine accounting transactions; assistance in preparation and/or maintenance of accounting reporting systems; resolution of problems associated with incorrect entries, deviations from established procedures, and other inconsistencies with generally accepted accounting principles; may assist in analysis and interpretation of accounting, investment records and reports and/or performance of administrative and clerical support duties as assigned; may direct the activities of temporary staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance or a Master’s degree in Accounting

• No previous accounting experience required
• Organizing data and preforming mathematical calculations in spreadsheet software
• Following prescribed procedural steps consistently

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Data Analytics, IT, or other system degree
• Experience using large volumes of data and customizing reports
• Investment accounting experience
